Guy Street Health Park _ 2011
Architectural Association
Instructor: Sam Jacoby
Guy Street Health Park argues that open leisure space as it exists now is redundant.
The park-type cannot exist as an island in an otherwise intensifying urban geography.
As a leisure space, it must be combined with other programs to avoid becoming inactive.
By tucking commercial and fitness elements into a folding landscape, the park weaves
itself into the surrounding fabric, energizing and stimulating new development and
intensification while creating an active terrain that serves as a node of health
and revenue.
